Jason Alexander who played George Kostanza on the NBC comedy “Seinfeld” was invited to give the keynote address at the 2013 Federation Campaign Opening Night. As an avid supporter of the Federation’s Annual Drive, Shay also volunteers as a Fundraising Captain.

Shay has been the title sponsor of the RJDS Annual Charity Golf Tournament since 2007 and has been an active member of the RJDS Board of Directors for nine years including four years as VP of Finance and two years as President.

Shay announced a new Scholarship at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2015. This lifetime endowment will provide for an annual scholarship to an eligible student that is enrolled in The Kwantlen School of Business. Shay is a strong believer of higher education and is thrilled to provide this annual scholarship to students looking to pursue a career in business.

Shay is an active giver to the United Way of Greater Vancouver through Scotiabank’s United Way program. Not only is Shay one of the top 1% of givers to the United Way among Scotiabank employees, he was recently invited to the prestigious United Way Pathfinder Dinner in November 2014 which recognized United Way’s major donors.

Shay, pictured with Frank Caliendo of ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, was a key sponsor of the 22nd Annual JCC Sports Dinner. Frank delighted the audience with his amazing impressions of Hollywood actors past and present. All funds raised went towards funding the numerous programs offered by the JCC of Vancouver.
